Landsvirkjun started international activities in 2003 with projects in Albania and in Greenland. All overseas activities were brought under the auspices of Landsvirkjun Power in 2008 and include various specialized consulting services and engineering work on hydropower, geothermal and transmission projects. The activities cover all phases of project management, including site investigations, feasibility studies, tendering and detailed design, design review, specific engineering and operation services for owners and developers. Refurbishment and upgrades of existing power facilities are also an important mission.
