The Budarhals Project harnesses a 37m drop in the Tungnaa River between two older power stations. The project involves the construction of a 25m high moraine core rock fill dam, a 4 km long headrace tunnel, a fore bay, an intake structure, penstocks and a conventional powerhouse for two 47.5 MW Kaplan units. Design flow is 280m3/s. The work includes overall owner’s project management and direction of site supervision.
The project was completed in March 2013.
